Ethical Training Practices

Lakeside Pet Care and Training LLC follows the  American Veterinary Society for Animal Behavior training guidelines.

Training should be a collaborative process between the pet and owner, built on trust, understanding, and communication.

There is no room or reason for dominance, pain, or punishment within the scope of our training practices. True behavioral change is accomplished with our method of thoughtful instruction and consistency that empowers owners with knowledge, skills, and confidence to sustain lifetime results. Come as you are —no judgement. and we will set you on the right path with clear explanations, unlimited questions answered, and a sense of relief.

It’s not just positive reinforcement, it’s positive reinforcement done right.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

IMPORTANT

Training sessions are one hour in length - unless otherwise specified. Late arrivals will not delay the start of the lesson nor extend the end time.

If you are more than 10 minutes late, without notice, the session will be considered cancelled and will not be rescheduled or refunded. You may book another lesson.

Rescheduling/Cancellations

As a part of your tailored training plan, your trainer will recommend a timeline that sets you, your pup, and your family up for success. We have found that chronic rescheduling decreases lesson effectiveness, derails goals, increases frustration, and limits others’ access to us as a resource. To ensure that you meet your goals as expected and keep openings accessible for everyone, we follow a basic guideline for rescheduling.

Initial consult - 1 reschedule permitted

Foundational package - 1 reschedule permitted

Transformational package - 2 reschedules permitted

If rescheduling exceeds our guidelines for success, your training package may be terminated without a refund.

Single Sessions

Rescheduling is available within 48 hours of your appointment. Your new date must be within 3 months.

Session Training Packages

Rescheduling is available within 48 hours of your appointment.

If you wish to terminate your package early, you are eligible for credits for future sessions. Termination must be done at least 72 hours before your next session.

Credits must be used within 3 months.

Nail Trims

Rescheduling is available within 48 hours of your appointment. If you cancel your appointment 72 hours in advance, you are eligible for a nail credit to be used within 3 months.
